FRANK G. JOHNSON

Frank Johnson has devoted his life to sharing his love of music and song as a teacher, choral conductor and performer.

Music Schools
Frank is a graduate of the Boston Conservatory of Music where he received his Bachelor of Science in Music Education in 1976.

He stayed at the Conservatory two more years taking every singing course he'd missed studying education. During this time he performed with the Conservatory Chorale on a tour of Germany and Austria.

Frank received his Master of Music in Vocal Performance in 1986 from the University of New Mexico, Albuquerque.

More important than all those degrees, Frank has PRACTICED every day for the past 55 years!

Choral Music
In Boston Frank sang tenor under Alfred Nash Patterson at the Old South Church (1975-76), and countertenor under Thomas Murray at St. Paul's Cathedral (1976-80). He performed as Tenor Soloist under Dennis Schmidt with the St. John's Cathedral choir in Albuquerque (1983-89).

Since 1985 he has been Conductor of The Hightoners, a chorus at the Highland Senior Center. They meet the first three Fridays of every month at 10:30 A.M. From 1983 through 1996 Frank served as Music Director for Los Altos Christian Church. And for 20 years, Frank was the Director of the Enchanters, a 24-voice group that has been singing in Albuquerque for over sixty years!

Teaching
Frank teaches private lessons in voice, piano, conducting and music theory. He's working with students of all ages, experience levels and musical interests. Frank offers a free lesson to all first-time students. After that an hour lesson is currently $60. Inquire about available times.

Performing here, there and everywhere
You are most likely to see Frank conducting and playing piano for the Hightoners as they perform throughout Albuquerque. He also performs at parties at many retirement and living centers in New Mexico. Frank is available to provide marvelous vocal music for your special events.
